I need some help in getting in to the service menu of a VS 5072 to adjust the vertical hold. Please let me know if this is something I can do or do I need a tech.

Hi!
I work on these things all the time and if you have a problem with vertical hold you do not need to get into the menu, you will need to have it repaired. The most common problem is bad electrolytics in the vertical but Mits does have a problem with the drivers also. I'm not sure that the 5072 even has a service menu, that looks like an earlier model number. I'll check and see if it's one that needs the 401 kit to fix the vertical. (mits has secret fix it kits)

OK, I got you the codes. Use the Initalize reset first, That's what Mits always reccomends though I haven't had much luck with it.
Options: Menu 2358 highlight INT and enter
Service: Menu 2357 Funct: VCJ
10 VHT vert hgt 63
44 VSC vert Size 16
45 VLR vert lin 25
46 VSF vert pos
Convergence: Menu 23595
Good luck and avoid all resets.

Glenn,
Do you have the factory values for the geometry part of the service menu for this set? I screwed it up bad and did not write down the original parameters.....Thanx....

They just list the values as pretty much centered. All the convergence values are 127.

Does that apply to all of the geometric values---if not which ones are not the convergence parameters--- and what are the values for them?----thanx again
