I want a reciever that has DVI. I am looking at the Sony HD200 but saw the HD300 is coming out in Sept. I assume with the new Sony coming out it will push price on the HD200 down (maybe wrong). For anyone familiar, is the HD200 good, or is it better to wait for the HD300. Also what other HD recievers are there that have DVI. I looked at the Hughes one and Samsung (SIRTS160) one that Best Buy carries. The Hughes (E86) did not have DVI but the Samsung did, but it was kind of big and bulky looking. What about the Zenith HDSAT520? Need some help from the pros!

I just called my local Circuit City (Hoover) about the Zenith. He said they didn't carry it anymore, but he would sell me the Sony HD200 for $650.00. I know they have for $799.00 right now, Is this good deal or can I find a good one for cheaper elsewhere?

I'm reading this with interest. I had looked at the HD DirecTIVO but hear how expensive it will be. I had wanted to hook a D-VHS onto it but now that seems unlikely. I dont' want to lose TIVO though so am looking for something that would run alongside the TIVO and then maybe in a couple years I'll look into something like a DirecTIVO or HD-DVD

I have the HD-200 and it is a nice box. The off-air ATSC/NTSC tuner is nice and the DVI port has some nice features. Not sure what more the 300 could offer other than a 1394 port????

Watched Hogan's Heros (on HDNET) and the 2002 Miss Hawaiian Tropics contest in HD, awesome!!! Technology at its best!!!!

What more can the HD300 offer?

The first thing I noticed is the RF remote. The HD200 as far as I know does not offer RF Remote command. This is a big deal to some people. If you don't care about that, there may not be much difference.

Haven't been able to find a spec sheet on the HD300 to compare the finer points.

The big thing I wish the HD-200 would do that the HD-300 WILL do is output HD and SD signals at the same time. This is VERY helpful if you want to record to a DVD while watching a show in HD. Some may find this trivial but I really would love to have this feature.

Another thing I wish the HD-200 had was a Timer function that would turn the receiver on automatically when it's time to record a show while you're away. I'm not sure if the HD-300 will have this or not.

Otherwise, I've been very happy with the HD-200. No service problems or outages like some have reported.
