I have DirecTV and hope to get a HD STB soon. I"m kind of waiting on the DirecTIVO since I don't want to give up TIVO. Only problem as well I'm considering a D-VHS to archive programs from the TIVO onto tape that I wish to keep. Only problem is it seems that with any D-VHS you have to run firewire from the STB into the D-VHS for it to record off of your STB. I see few if any that support this and I have my doubts about the HD DirecTIVO supporting it.
I would appreciate any information that anyone has on the HD DirecTIVO though.
As well, is it possible that there are converters to convert from digital audio/component video or DVI into firewire?
Or is it possible to run component and optical audio into these? I know though that you'd likely not have HD quality and likely standard TV or something in between standard and HDTV.
