Screen Replacement

I have a 50" Panasonic TH50PX60U and the outer screen is cracked. The picture is still good. Can just the outer screen be replaced. One dealer said the outer screen and the Plasma display had to be replaced together. How much trouble is it to replace if it can be replaced.

I would bet it is all integral meaning the whole thing needs to be replaced...

I am not aware of Plasma displays having a "protective" screen.

I'd suggest you contact Panasonic and see if they can confirm. IMO... it doesn't sound good.

I have read of some plasmas having a glass screen but either way sounds exspensive,
