I was hoping that with the addition of the new HD channels and the movement of the old HD channels to new channel numbers that the old ones would have been moved from satellite B to satellite C. Disappointing to find out that it didn't happen. I guess I really will have to kill a tree in order to get all of my HD channels during the summer. :-(

I had to kill some trees too. Sat B or 119 is so damn low in the northeast that I had to kill several trees and I still have a partial block. I at least get 60's and 70's but I am glad they put several of the channels on Sat C where I get high 80's - 90's. Let me know if you want any advice on tree killing positions in relation to the dish location. ;-)

I am having trouble getting the enhanced definition channels for Direct TV Sunday ticket.

They were in my guide, then disappeared.

The Receiver was very hot, so I uplugged it overnight last Sat. sunday morning, the channels were back in my guide (70-72)in time for Football sunday. (although one was blacked out!) ??

The next day they are gone again, and unplugging hasn't brought them back, of course Direct TV wants me to buy a new access card for 20 Bucks.

I also used to get the special event channel. 84 in my guide but that is gone too.

Since these are the only missing channels, could this be a back access card? All the other channels are there fine, including OTA locals. Any help appreciated.

Channel 72 took a long time to come on this past weekend. I called DirecTV at 4pm and they assured me that it was a blackout by Fox and beyond their control. Then I called them back to talk to someone different. They said the same thing, but had me check the regular NFL Sunday Tix channel (#751 or something) and it was on magically (wasn't on 5 minutes prior). So we were trying to figure out on the phone why 72 wasn't on - which it should if the regular sunday tx is on, then magically it flipped on around 4:20-ish. Weird.

I had a problem with NHL Center Ice access last winter. I kept getting a "no access" message at the bottom of the screen, yet my bedroom had no problems getting Center Ice. I called DirecTV thinking it was them and they sent me a new access card twice.

Anyway, the problem turned out to be my Hughes satellite receiver which explains why the RCA receiver in my bedroom didn't have a problem. Basically the guide was not downloading completely and Hughes tech support had me do a couple reboots on the receiver so the guide would be forced to download again. This fixed the problem and eventually the access problem ended.

Cliff notes: my guess is your receiver is acting up, not a bad access card.

I called Direct TV again, and this time instead of trying to get the channels to come in, the guy told me channels 70-72 only come in on Sunday and are gone on monday, which is exactly the way it was for me last week, hope he's right and they are there on Sunday!
