Madrush-

I've got the Athena Audition speakers hooked up in a 7.1 system with an Onkyo TXSR800 receiver. I ended up going with all bookself (ASB1 and ASB2), except for the center and sub, due to room size. Most of my listening is TV and movies in our family room. The speakers fit the room, although with the 7.1 setup it appears to be overkill, but who cares when you put on a movie with some action or a great soundtrack. I'd say you can't go wrong with the speakers and would recommend them (can't speak to the Yamaha receiver).

The main part of the room is 15x18. The tv is in a corner at a 45 to the room. Custom built cabinets help anchor the corner, had to do this due to a 10ft fireplace on one wall. The speakers are spread around the room as close to their preferred position as I was able to get. The sub I went with was the ASP400. Its located behind the TV and shakes the room. It has a neat feature to match its performance to other Athena speakers. There are two dials on the front, one for volume and the other to match speakers. Depending on which speaker you use for your fronts, you dial in the model and the sub is suppose to match with the selected speaker.

I brought the receiver and speakers from OneCall.com. After checking out prices all over the place, they came in with the lowest price, and we're also helpful over the phone. They had advertised a 7.1 system with either the Onkyo SR800 or the Marantz 325 with Athena speakers. They had floor (ASFS1) speakers in the group and were willing to change them to bookselfs at an adjusted price. (I ended up with an extra pair of ASB2's because the salesman substituted 1 floor for 1pr of bookself.) Onecall is an authorized dealer for both brands. Arrived at my house in VA within 3 days of ordering.

i have a yamaha 5660 tied up with AS-f2 for the front, AS-f1 for the rears, a C1, and an ASP400, brings a real big smile to my face, instead of spending 800 bucks on that reciever(best buy price) i'd rather just go with a 5660 along with a separate amp(which you wont be needing for these speakers, so just get the cheaper reciever :D)
