I went to the directv home page, then program guide, then told it go to july 1st. on that day they have the following channels listed.
106 esph
107 dhdt
108 hdnm
I saw some one post about the following channels showing up now. these channels do not show up on my system.
espn hd on channel 73
discovery on channel 76
hd movies on 81

Does channel 90 show up? If you can see the direcTV logo, you can get the new HD channels. Now, how to order the package?

I got the hd channels on
ESPH 73
HDDisc 76
HDNet 79
HD Movies 81...I think...not at home at the time I am writing this thread.
It looks like directv is grouping all the hd channels because hbohd/showhd and a few other hd channels were in the 80' and 90's
I kept switching back between regular espn 106 and hd 73 and the picture quality really does stand out. I can't wait to start checking out some live sports in the hd

Yes, finally the website lets you order the HD package...was sometime late last nght. I ordered the package and checked it out. 70's and 80's are the new channels and they look pretty good. I read on HDNET website that eventuall, 199 goes away leaving channel 79.
ESPN-HD ticker at the bottom of the screen looks really clear, but you can tell tell they mix in standard def broadcasts - ie. news. The events that are broadcast in HD will be awesome I'm sure. Can't wait for Sunday Night NFL football!! Good to go. :D
