Oh well...
I knew it would only be a matter of time! The set worked fine in the morning. Powered it up in the afternoon and no picture/signal on the antenna A and B inputs! Sounds like the DM-1 problem!

Tech is supposed to come out on Tuesday(extended warranty). I hope he's aware of the issues and competent/skilled to get it fixed quickly!!

Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm sorry to hear this Ratman. Please let us know how this works out. I love this set and I really hope she doesn't give out on me as well. :(

Well I gotta tell ya...
The tech called me on Monday evening set set up a time. We agreed on 8am (early... good sign!).

I asked if he was familiar with the F38310. He said he was very familiar. I then described my symptoms and suggested that it's probably bad capacitors and/or diodes in the DM-1 module.

Well... he was startled and asked how I knew about this problem. Of course, I had to tell him about the forum. He agreed and said he will check to see if he has the parts and be prepared for the visit. (2nd good sign... he's worked on these before!)

He arrives at 7:50 am!! (Third good sign!! Prompt!!). He opens the back of the set, points to the 'bulging' cap and says... "yep! you were right!" He also tested the diode which was also bad.

He went out to his truck and comes back with the last set of parts!(I'm on a winning streak here!).

Zip, zap, bam! Parts replaced, sets back up in 30 minutes total!!!

The tech (Andy from Circuit City), showed me about 10 bad caps that he had in his kit. Tsk-tsk Thomson!!!

Anyway... I'm happier than a pig in excrement!

Absolutely! Although as I stated, if you know what to expect, then this set is one of those 'best bang for the buck" HDTV's.
