Using Samsung SIR-TS160 Receiver to control HS2

I just bought a Samsung SIR-TS160 HD Receiver and have a Panasonic HS2 DVD Recorder. The Receiver has a option to save to vcr and a VCR Controller. THe problem is I am not sure if It would work with the DVD Recorder. I tried the Panasonic VCR codes iwth no luck but am wondering if anyone knows of any codes to work and if it's possible to use these two together?

I'm getting a Panasonic DVD recorder too and I will try all the codes if you haven't done this yet.
