Curious to know if anyone else feels their HIRD-E86 Hughes Receiver gets really hot really fast..

Should I be concerned, is it a defect?
Granted, the things on 15 hours a day and sleeps for only 7-9 hours at night...And is still not cool by morning.
Thanks

I have the same receiver. This thing could heat my house in the winter. it does get insanely hot. i usually turn the fan on it to move the heat away from it. ALSO, there are heat vents on the bottom of it too (i guess it was originally intended to float). i had pic problems due to the overheating, so when i found these vents, i propped the box up on 2 two inch high props (the box i got my checks in) to let the whole thing vent. aesthetically pleasing it is NOT, but i've had no picture problems since. hope this helps

When you sit down to watch a couple hours of TV, take a pizza out of the freezer and set it on top of the box. By halftime you'll have a toasty treat!
