They will have DVI and IEEE 1394. You will also loose analog inputs. It will go from 4 to 2. You will still have 3 component, and 1 DTV component, as well as a DVI connector. Some of the lower end models are arriving now. I haven't seen any around here yet though. What size tv are you looking for? I just purchased my 65" Mitsu, and was debating on the 65" Platinum + or wait till next model year. After I called Mitsu, they told me that the Gold Plus is basically the Platinum + for next model year.I don't know if that's true or not, it's just hear say. I opted for the WS 65712 Diamond select, which was $500 more then the Platinum plus. You won't find it on their website, but only at select retailers. It is actually less the the diamond series, and better... I can provide a pic if you like as well.

Even Gold has DVI?
Basically, I was just wonder if I should...
wait for the new models?
or
get current models cheaper because they need to clear out?
Seems as though the new models will be VERY worth it!

yes, they also have memory card slots. Your IEEE 1394 connections are down to 2. if you go to mitsu. website, under support, then owners guides, you can download the owners manual for the new models.

here's a pic of the diamond select.... MSRP $5999. I got it for $3999 from my local Authorized Mitsu dealer. Only select dealers can sell them. This was only $500 more then the Platinum plus...

it is a current model, based on the 04 diamond. It came out mid year(what i was told be the salesman) you wont find any info on their website, and not alot on the web either. I got mine from the big screen store, here in MD.

I think the best store here in Minn is Audio King, I wonder if they sell it. Unforturnately it is out of my price range, but I still would like to know if it is available in my area

It seems from the press release that only the 65" platinum model will have 9" CRT guns. Does anybody know if the 73" models will continue to have them? If not, I may opt for a closeout on a 73711 to have more S-vid inputs and the 9" guns (though no DVI - decisions, decisions). I realize this is a premature discussion since the product isn't even available in stores yet, but what the heck. :D

Hofstra.....I got these details from the official 2004 Mits product guide:
WS-65313 (Silver Series) CRT size is 7"
WS-65413 (Silver Plus Series) CRT size is 7"
WS-65513 (Gold Series) CRT size is 7"
WS-73513 (Gold Series) CRT size is 9"
WS-65613 (Gold Plus Series) CRT size is 7"
WS-65713 (Platinum Series) CRT size is 7"
WS-73713 (Platinum Series) CRT size is 9"
WS-65813 (Diamond Series) CRT size is 9"
So it looks like both the 73" models will have 9" guns, along with the 65" Diamond model. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate that. Now I am in a quandry: I can get the WS73411 for around $3300. However, it doesn't have the anti-glare screen or DVI. The unit will be sitting in a bright room near a sliding glass door. Not sure how the 73411 will hold up. Any suggestions? Thanks.

but am confuse with all these diff model numbers (411, 511, 611, 711, 413, 513, a/b-55,65, etc..) what are the diff bet all these other than money? I don't have cable where I live and am using roof antena and get all local and natinal channels such nbc, abc, csb, fox, pbs, ch 20 and 50. would I get all these channels or more with better picture quality that my existing 15 years old Mits TV? what are the model numbers for anti-glare?
Thanks, MN

HofstraJet:
I had my Mits 65711 diamond set professionally calibrated, and the first thing the ISF calibrator did was remove the anti-glare screen. He said that unless you have small children who might scratch it up (which would be very difficult to do), the screen was a hindrance for both glare and picture quality. My anti-glare screen is in the garage, and I have no reason to put it back on, although it is easy to do. BTW, I assume you, like my misguided son, are Jet fans, even though my son was born and raised here in Miami (Go Dolphins!).

I found this article that gave some info on all 2004 models.
http://www.eedesign.com/pressreleases/bizwire/69162
I am still trying to get the dimension of each unit. I have a built in system with an older 60" unit that I want to replace with a new 65" or 73" unit. I know I have to modify mu cabinet but I need to know how much.
I also saw an ad for the 65313 unit at best buy for $2799.
