View Full Version : pt53wx42f intermittent pink screen

Hello all, I'm having trouble with my pt53wx42f. my screen keeps going pink. repairman told me that my green tube (he called it) is bad but didn't even test anything just looked at it , this I don't understand since if I manually adjust it with the adjustment screws behind the speakers, I can turn the screen green, even when the screen is initially pink. When the screen comes back on with normal colors the picture is great, there is no pattern to it changing either. sometimes it will be pink for a couple of minutes, sometimes a half hour. Also told me that may not be able to get a new tube because they are getting hard to find. The set isn't that old (bought it new 5 or 6 years ago). If anyone would happen to know the part for one and know where I could find it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You for your help.
A pink screen is often indicative of a poor connection somewhere. If you have items connected to the TV, check/replace the connections and advise us what's connected and how. If it's the TV itself, then there's likely a poor connection inside.

Thank you for your fast response! The screen changes to pink without anything hooked up to it just plugged in to an outlet. we had both convergence IC's changed last fall thinking that they might have been the problem since it started doing this and then it shut off and gave the code of them being bad, only to find the same problem when it was powered back up (don't know if that makes any difference or helps in any way). Would you have an idea where possibly to start to check for a loose connection? Again any help is greatly appreciated.
