They have said this about 3 or 4 games and not one will do 1080I. Most recent is burnout. Even has a HDTV sticker on it. But it does not do 780p/1080I. I really doubt any game will ever do 1080I. But thats my thought on it. I wouldnt get your hopes up on This game being 1080I.... But you never know.. Just sick of always reading it and its never true when the game comes out...

I remember Dragon's Lair from back in the day. I hated it then and I hate it even more now. I blame Dragon's Lair for everything that is wrong with videogames now, especially games for the next generation consoles.

Do you really remember Dragon's Lair? What is it about the game that you loved? I can almost guarantee your answer will be the graphics. The game looked damn good. Visually, it was leaps and bounds above games of its time. Just look at it next to Tempest and Star Wars, both games were based on line-art vector graphics. But that is the problem in a nutshell. People played Dragon's Lair because it looked so good, not because it was a good game. The gameplay sucked.

Come on, most of the game was trial and error. You get to a point and push left, you die. Try again. Push right this time, you die. Dump in another quarter, get to the same point, push foward this time and you survive, on to the next guessing match. The whole game is based on "Guess what number I am thinking" and both rewarding you for guessing wrong with a cool death scene and rewarding you if you are right by advancing you in the game.

Tempest and Star Wars, although they looked like crap compared to Dragon's Lair, were far better video games. The action was relentless. Gameplay was unparalleled.

Now, here come the next generation videogames. They are all falling into the better graphics trap, the Dragon's Lair Syndrome. In the developer's quest for realism, gameplay is secondary. Pump out another Final Fantasy, or Metal Gear Solid. Games that are more movie than interaction. I'll take a great playing wire frame game over either of those.

I would love to SEE a video game that is 1080i, I would love to PLAY any videogame that stresses gameplay regardless of the graphics. If you could combine the two, that would make me very happy.

I never liked dragons lair either, and I remember paying about 1 buck per play. There was a flash of light on the spot you needed to direct the player and it just became a guessing game. Memory of the right sequences was the name of the game, and I have a bad memory. Thats just my memory of the game, I could be wrong.

Yeah, but ya gotta understand the time. I liked the game because of the great animation and story. There was NOTHING like it at all. It was truly revolutionary, at the time. I was able to get thru the game on one Dirk after awhile. That said, I never got into the sequel or any of the Space Ace games because the novelty of 'memorizing' wore off, but a lot of games are like that. Even Pac-Man was a memorization of a pattern and I could get to the 5th or 6th key. I highly doubt that this new Dragon's Lair will follow the same formula.
