No Picture/Sound w/DVD Player, TH-42PZ80U

No Picture/Sound w/DVD Player, TH-42PZ80U, New TV.

I've tried 2 DVD players, 2 Component cables, both Component 1 & 2 inputs, been through all the meues & I can't get any picture or sound.
It WILL work with Composite & S-Video.
I don't have a HDMI DVD player yet , so I can't check that.

I can't take it back to Circuit City because there closed, so I'm guessing I would have to take it to a Panasonic factory service center.

Any Ideas on what could be wrong??????????????????????

1. Have you connected the analogue audio cables required for audio and are they connected to the analogue audio inputs associated with the component video cable inputs?

2. Have you switched the TV to the appropriate input?

I know these are basic questions, but some people have not done these very simple checks.

3. Some DVD players have a menu item or a hard switch on the back to enable the component video outputs, which may not be "on" on that sort of DVD player.

5. Do you have anything else that you can connect via component video? A STB for example?

... also be sure that you connect the audio outputs of the DVD player to the correct audio inputs for the corresponding component video input(s) of the TV.

For example:
Component video 1 may have analog (red/white) audio inputs designated for that input and Component video 2 has it's own.

Also... if you have "upconverting" DVD players, be sure that the video output settings are configured for a resolution that your TV can "accept". (I.E. 480p or 1080i are generally accepted by most all TV's).

Thanks Guys, I will keep tring, but I've done everything above except to see if there is a switch on the back of the DVD player, But 2 DVD players????
