Which Directv hdtv reciever offers the best picture quality. I don't know which one I should buy.

Hughes Network Systems:
HIRD-E86

Mitsubishi:
SR-HD5

Panasonic:
TU-HDS20

Philips:
DSHD 800 R

RCA:
DTC100

Sony:
SAT HD100

Toshiba:
DST-3000

Zenith:
DTV1080

There might be some more out there. Please feel free to recommend any other ones. Also, how come Comcast is so expensive. In my area, the classic is $51.95. Too much.

the sony sat HD 2000 is about 800 bux. It is the same as the Zenith (I think) both have new models comming out in the next couple months. As far a PQ, don't know for sure, I have only really used the Sony. I am pleased with it, even though it was a little expensive.

Okay, but these are too dang expensive. I guess I have to save a few more dollars. Also, when you use component video, does the signal it sends in 408i/480p format or does it also send other formats like 1080i? Also to kevinw, do you think that Samsung HD DVD player any good? It plays DVD in HD format so I am guessing it is good.
