ya know, i tried to be patient, but after 2 straight faulty Samsungs and no satisfaction, i FINALLY got samsung to refund my money and i bought the sony 32" hs 510. wish me luck!!! it arrives on tuesday.

p.s. store warranties are ridiculous. best buy wanted $300 for a $1200 t.v. that's insane. they tried to convince me to buy it time and again, but that's just an absurd pecentage of the purchase price. i looked into a viking warranty, which is only $160 for 4 years, and they have a good rating with the BBB. i may get that. THANK GOD I TURNED THEM DOWN.

First time I hear about warranties for TV's offered by someone besides the retailer. Are there more companies like this? Anyone else try these before? Any details appreciated. ;)

warrantybynet sells them too. their price was higher than vikings, but if you ask for an e-mail quote, they will call you on the phone. i told them i was gonna get the viking one and they dropped their price, so i got theirs.

Just did a quote from them - it was less than 1/2 of the price of the extended warranty Best-Buy tried to peddle to me..

Their "corporate headquarters" is located about 5 miles from where I live - and strangely from the address - in a more or less non-commerical zone. I think over the weekend I'll swing past and give the place the eyeball :smokin:

Hi...

Do any of you know of these "warranty" companies in Canada?

Thanks

Circuit City offered me a 4 year warranty extension for $142. What is with Best Buy?
