i have a DCT-5100 HDTV calbe box with a DVI output, i hooked it up to my HDTV but no picture, only a picture with the component out, whats the problem? i do not see any switch or anything to enable it.

It probably has to be enabled by your cable company.

Yes, many of the newer STBs have ports that may not be "active", especially DVI & Firewire ports. It's up to the cable company to activate these ports and they may, or may not, do that depending...
