Don't know if this is the proper forum for this question but a mod can move it if it is not ---

I'm looking to buy an OTA STB. Right now I'm leaning towards the Samsung T151. I'm planning on picking one up a circuit city to test out and then to return once I know the results. If successful I'm going to look to purchase one on Ebay. What scares me about ebay is I see mostly refurbs. What's everyones experience buying this kind of HDTV equip off of there? Not worth the headache? Am I better off just going brand new and spending megabucks? I see some of the sellers on there do claim to offer a warranty -- but how reliable are they on the most part? Share your ebay stories with me...

I have purchased a OTA HDTV box off of Ebay and the seller was private, he stated it was used and getting rid of it because the cable co. was suppliing one. Best thing to do is make sure there feedback is mostly positive and they guarantee it and have a return policy. As with anything bought off Ebay " buyer beware" but I have yet to have a bad transaction there. Also purchases made with credit cards are usually protected so try to pay that way only if you can, PAYPAL has some protection regarding transactions and the usual if the price is too good its probably bogus. Hope this helps.

Jimbo - I *might* be convinced to sell my T-151, as I'm pretty sure I'm going SuperDish this fall. Let me know when you're looking to buy.

Check out hancox's deal. But if you do go Ebay be sure to use PayPal or something like that.

I bought a refirb Toshiba DST-3000 STB and have had no problems.

Oh, if you use PayPal check out this LINK (http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5709). (Sneaky eh?)

Personally I'd feel comfortable buying something from a regular on this site :) (IMHO of course)
