I own a Panasonic PT-47WX49 and use a Sony Progressive Scan DVD player with some expensive Monster cables. I've noticed that when watching any DVD movie that there is some odd pulsating pixelization in areas of the screen that represent darkness in any movie. Has anyone else noticed this problem and what can be done about it?

You may want to check that cables are plugged incorrectly, I only say that as I am always getting that wrong and wonder why colours all seem out. Also do you get this problem only when black is showing on the screen ?

Yes, it only occurs in the grey and black areas. For instance, in the recent "Harry Potter" DVD release, all of the areas where fog is present, or in areas depicting the dark of night, dark cloaks, dark hair, etc, have a very grainy, pixelated look. The same situation arises in every DVD movie I play. Incidentally, the cables are colour coded and matched to the colour coding on the back of the DVD player and the TV. The DVD player is set to 16:9 and Progressive.
