With Football season about to begin, i am still getting some breakup with my OTA signals from my antenna. It has an amplifier, and at times all the networks come in great. But the Fox station in particular breaks up frequently. (Of Course necessary for Football season).

I have a Hughes E-86 receiver which only has component hookup and only 1080i for HD. I heard that Toshiba has a new receiver out now DT3100 I think with multiple hookups, (DVI included) and 780p.

Is this receiver, (or any other) better for pulling in OTA Signals and holding them?

My signals can vary from hour to hour, and from 0-90 at times.

It dosen't look like a new receiver is going to help you if the signal varies by that much. Did you do all the usual like checking cables and connections, Amp going bad or trees in the way?

My reception has actually gotten better since I had the antenna installed. At first I couldnt even get these stations, then slowly they started coming in. There are no trees or any kind of buildings around just a straight shot. I just wondered if the newer receivers had any new technology that would hold the signal. I've heard that some 2nd generation receivers can prevent "ghosting"? And bring the signal in better. I am just on the fringe of the reception area.
