This link is to an article is about a new Samsung 100 hour (120GB)DirecTivo that will ship in the next couple of weeks. But it also mentions the release of a new HD DirecTivo that will have several tuners as opposed to the rumored one to be released by years end that will only operate one tuner at a time. I can't wait!!!

Any word on their storage capacity? 35hr? 60? 100?
Any thoughts on timing and price?

does that mean you will need more than one cable from the dish going to the reciever?

Hopefully, it means you will want 3 coax's going into it... One for OTA, and two coming from a multi-switch on the dish so Tivo can record two things at once, or record one while you watch another. If you can record two at once while watching something else OTA all from one receiver, that will be awesome. I can do that currently, but I can't record in HD and I'm using two receivers (Tivo and HD receiver). From what I understand, there will be several HD DirecTivo's out this year to choose from... I just hope the first one that comes out isn't the crappier of the group because I don't know that I'll be able to say no to buying the first one on the market.

The long awaited Hughes HD-DVR250... Available 3/30/04 for $999.95.

Here's a stupid question though... If it has 4 tuners, then why are there 2 satellite inputs, but only one antenna input? Can it tune in two HD stations from the same input? Also, it'll have an HDMI output. My Samsung HCN653W has a DVI input. Those are compatible with a converter cable w/o losing any picture quality, right?
$999? Am I the only one that thinks that is a bit high?
Does this system allow you to connect via a broadband connection or do you still need a phone line to get program updates?

Seems quite high, I was expecting $750-850 tops. With $500 models by mid year...
STILL no word on how much it can record? Oh wait, I see 250 hours of STD, and 30 hrs of HD.

Weaknees has it at 250 GB:

I figure I can ebay my Ultimate TV and E86 boxes - if I'm lucky that will take me close to halfway to the $999 mark. The rest will have to come from paid overtime I guess. I found out too late that the beta test program is already well under way and is being run by DirecTV, not HNS.
