i just recently purchased a used hd receiver, when i get to a channel that is broadcasting in high def and press the button on the front of the unit that say high def monitor my screen goes blank but i still have sound. do any body have any suggestion as to what the problem could be. thanks for any info received

Do you mean DTC-100?

Maybe if you can provide info on what equipment you're using and how it is connected, what is your HD source (OTA, satellite, both) we may be able to help. And most important... do you have a HD-ready TV???

sorry for the error, i have a pioneer sd582-hd5 monitor and i have the rgb cables hook up to my set plus i am running s-video, when i am not using hd i get a picture but when i turn on the hd for viewing i still get sound but no picture.

Are you using a transcoder cable from the DTC-100 to the TV?
The HD is output from the DTC with a VGA connector. There is a 'special' cable you need to use to convert the VGA to component cable. BTW... you cannot get HD over an S-Video connection.
