Well I decided to take the plunge and ordered an I scan processor today. I'm excited to see how it does. I have a sony 65" HD which has great HD and digital picture but terrible regular pq or at least terrible by comparison.
I have Britehouse cable.
Anybody have comments on scalers?

Well if your on cable in Florida more than likely you are using a Motorola 3100HD box. There is a known issue with this box passing 480i over the component. If this is the case you should make a second connection to your TV (either S-video, composite, coaxial) and use this connection for 480i programming and the component for any HD. The other advtage to this set up is the ability to use any stretch modes your TV has, as on most sets they are disabled for 1080i inputs.

Thanks for the tip. I have a Scientific Atlanta 3100HD box. I presently run HD direct to the set. I also run my DVD players direct also. I'm excited about the processor, but I like toys.

Ooops, I meant Scientific Atlanta. Try to make the connections as I said it will help your basic picture out tremendously.
See the FAQ on "cables & connections". There's a link in there on how to hook up an SA3100HD. Also read the FAQ itself and any other FAQs of interest.
