Have you folks seen this (http://www.scientificatlanta.com/customers/index.htm) ?
I have always been checking S-A's Consumer area and decided to check the Customer area just to see what was there.
Sorry if you've already see it.
Thanks for the link. I think it's new.
This is all starting to fall into place - real information on HDDVRs, announcements from Cable companies. I can't wait.
I would have expected a 200+ GB HDD, but I'll take 15+ hours of HD recording for a start... That'll give you 10 hours of HD and lots of SD anyway.

I know it's less than 2 months old because I have checked that page before, I just don't remember exactly when the last time was.
Not sure if there will be options for larger drives, but I don't see why not. The new Tivo-HD DVR will have a 250G drive for 25-30 hours of HD recording, so S-A needs to keep up, though I'm not sure howmuch is enough. I do a lot of time-shifting and I have no idea what I'd do with 15-20 hours of capacity, much less 25-20, though more is always better. :)
The only other question I have is whether or not cableco's will add a Tivo-like subscription fee. We've been told unofficially that Cox Cable won't, but like everything else with Cox, that is certainly subject to change. We do already pay for the interactive programming guide as part of the digital package, so who knows?
The link in the first post no longer takes you to the SA8000HD spec sheet. I hope the following link lasts longer...
