I got great news regarding INHD and INHD2 for TWC in Houston. Judy Dunn replied to my email earlier this week and said as follows:
FINALLY....AN ANSWER!!!!!!!!! I was just told we are planning to add these 2 channels on Nov. 5. I believe she said they would be channels 288 and 299. They will be available at no charge to subscribers who have at least our Digital Value package (the service that currently goes for $41.95 or so per month). Well, there's one issue solved! Now if we could just get together on ESPN HD........thanks for your patience!
That is great news although we now need ESPN. Of course if you have HD you will have the Digital Value package. You can not have it without the Digital Value package.

Is this still the case? I just spoke to TW last week and the rep didn't know anything (as I expected). Hopefully so, I'm getting tired to Discovery. Someone on another thread said we (Houston) wouldn't get ESPNHD until April 04, anyone else hearing this?

I will email Judy Dunn again tonight and see if I can get an answer by tomorrow. She is pretty good about replying. She is the one that told me about INHD in November.

Could you also ask her if rollout of HD channels is simultaneous nationwide or each city has its own rollout date?

I got a reply from Judy Dunn and the last that she heard, the launch date for INHD in Houston is Nov. 7. Also, as expected, there are no news on ESPN HD. In addition, I asked her about DVR's and she said that they are still looking at different ones and that they expect a roll-out by the end of the 1st quarter in 2004 instead of the end of the year as originally mentioned.

humdinger70,
In response to your question about rollout of HD being nationwide or by region, I can speculate that it is by each individual TW system. We here in Maine have had INHD 1 and 2 since the 3rd week of September. They bundled it into a HD Tier for 9.95 a month extra. Right now, that is all that is in the HD Tier, but I suspect that when TW finally gets an agreement with ESPNHD, they will add that to the Tier at no extra cost. No one seems to know what else will be added in the future. Also, on PVRs, we have had them here since last spring (the SA8000) and they are great. The only thing we don't have, is a PVR that records HD and I think those are on the horizon.

Thanks for the quick feed back. I don't need a DVR STB b/c I already have TIVO, but for those without it, DVRs are great!

I can't afford a TIVO and TWC will lease the DVR instead of me having to buy it.

I got my ebill last night, and the have INHD 1 & 2 listed as new channels starting Nov 5, just as bighec said. Guess it's Officially Official now.
I have never been so excited to be getting a channel that plays nothing but crap! Can't wait to see the Mt. Union vs St. Mary's football game. I'll probably watch that channel 25% of the time just to see HD stuff.
