I just wanted to share a very good experience I had at Sound Advice here in Orlando Florida.
After searching for about 6 months for different HD sets, I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for as far as one model compared to the other, but not so much HDTV programming in general. The individual I worked with, Dana, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in explaining what to expect and trade-off you get in viewing widescree vs. standard as well as what you will encounter with stretched images, etc. I left understanding that for all the great HD I would be getting, that there would be an adjustment period for the disappointments in standard programming.
He assisted me in picking out the correct model by doing things like turning the color all the way off so you could really see which model had the sharper picture. He had good insight regarding connections to other devices, and most importantly, was an HDTV owner himself, unlike the Circuit City folks that claimed to be when it was clear that they were not!
I would recommend anyone to Sound Advice for this reason. I may have just gotten lucky with the right salesperson, but it was nice to make a large purchase and not have any "surprises" when I got home.
