Does any one know how to copy your 480i settings to your 480p setting in the service menu (i think there the same). when displaying 480p with my dvd player the top lines are curved to the left, but the convergence in my 480p setting are good in the service menu. I hooked up the same dvd player to a diferent input with s video and the convergence are good when displayed in 480i . the convergence looks good in the service menu on both 480i and 480p.This proplem looks like it only happens with component video because when im displaying 480p or 480i with this input i have the same problem. (I tried both component inputs) Can anyone help i have the panny s35 dvd player and the pt53x52 tv. and yes i have good cables and they not running along other cables. thanks

480i and 480p convergence are the same setting. You can tell when you save it, it says 480i/p.

Have you tried using any calibration disk to converge like Avia or VE. You can use the grid pattern in that to converge with your component inputs.
Also what you can do is a comparison check with the progressive on and off so that you see convergence in both 480i and 480p. Theorotically they should be the same.

How does HD look on component ? I am assuming it doesnt have the same problem as 480p.

Some people have reported this problem on http://www.panny.tv but it should go away when you do your convergence right.
I have had excellent results with convergence overall, the side edges are more finicky.
