ANyone else with an AV48wp30 using an HD digital cable box with component video notice you can't change the screen format?

And when I reset convergance, as soon as I make the adjustment and go back to video, it doesn't seem to change, so I go back to reset and the changes don't seem to be made in the cross hairs?
Three weeks after I bought this one, the 56 came out and I couldn't take this one back.... D@mn !t!

Most TVs when fed an HD signal (720P or 1080i) cannot change the stretch mode. The Toshiba 82 series can properly stretch an HD input from 4:3 to fill 16:9. Hitachis can also stretch an HD signal, however the stretch on the Hitachi is essentially useless because it crops too much top & bottom and looks like hell.

Sorry, I can't help you on the convergence, someone familiar with your brand will have to assist.

The Tosh can only stretch a 1080i picture, not a 720p one. I put my Motorola dct 5100 into 720p and tried to strech MNF, but couldn't. Switched to 1080i and could. Still, it should be only a few more years of even having to worry about it.

Right, I knew that but I keep forgetting, I should just say 1080i since all STBs can output 1080i.
