I get a green blotch at the lower left hand corner of my screen when viewing at full 4:3 mode. It is more noticable on white screens or lighter color content or letters in that area.

I know this is a magnetic problem, and wondered if your Sony serviceman has made any SUCCESSFUL repairs? It is a known issue but I have yet to read a fix for this. Some say adding "magnets" to the set is one course of action. Your inputs would be appreciated. Please do not let the serviceman adjust your set and ruin the factory settings! New tubes are not a fix.

Thanks for your comments.

You probably have a non-sheilded speaker sitting too close to you TV. I know that XBRs automatically degausss when you turn them on (mine does) so just start off by moving any speakers away from the TV and then power the TV off and then back on. Hope this helps.

Aleke,

Have done the speaker thing...makes no difference if the set was in the middle of my backyard. Store sets are the same.

Not that it will help you, but I had the same green blotch when I first turned my TV on. I turned it off and back on and the blotch hasn't come back....

I have the 800 - I've had it for about a month and love it.
