Why isn't ESPN showing NBA games in HD?
Right now all we get is one College Football game, one NFL game, and Playmakers each week. Seems pretty weak, especially since providers are charging a premium for the service.
At least DiscoveryHD is all HD content.

Just wait until December there will be a couple NBA and college games on then. Then in January the pace will quicken with several different HD games a week from various sports.
have you checked the website?
NBA is on HD starting with 12/5 San Ant vs Orlando
12/12 Nets vs Orlando
etc...
you better check out the scheds...so may college basketball games...

I dont see any DEC ESPN HD schedule yet can you post a link to it.
I see thru end of NOV buts thats all website

Same here. This new list is much better. Big East Tournament. Cool. Go UCONN.
Anyone know if the Lakers game (12/12) will be in "true" HD on ESPNHD? Thanks
Titan tv lists the Supersonic - Pistons game in HD.
I doubt they will have both in HD. They don't seem to have much HD equipment yet. :(
Looks like ESPN has updated the list. Looks pretty thin to me, although it is getting better.

I've watched a couple of NBA games in ESPNHD this month. I was disappointed that it was not true HD.
this sucks. There are more college BB games in true HD than NBA.
What's up with this. I'm paying extra for a HD package from DishNetwork and I get this bull****.
The 16:9 format is ok. but I need my HD.

What do you mean by not true HD? What is it then and how can you tell the difference in the schedules?
HD channels can carry "True" HD, or they can carry 4:3 NTSC signals which have been upconverted and sometimes stretched.
4:3 upconverted material is easy to spot since it's 4:3, not 16:9. Some channels stretch this 4:3 material to fill a 16:9 screen, but the original signal was SD, not HD. It's also usually easy to spot because it's not as clear as HD and it's stretched.

btw the sac/phoenix game won't have espn's A announcing team on it[they're doing the mavs game on espn2]

it wasn't bad but not as good as the nfl games imho
The picture was great, the outcome was not.
I love how they try to sell HD to the SD viewers. They show a guy standing in front of an HD picture and saying someting brief about what a nice picture it is. Then the announcers make some joke about it.
