I just got myself a 43" Samsung DLP, and was wondering what HDCP was? I want to get a DVI enabled DVD player...will the Bravo D1 produce excellent pq with DVI?

thanks,
JT

HDCP I believe stands for High Definition Digital Copy Protection. The DVI port is apparently the idea of the Hollywood content providers. It allows for uncompressed digital transfer of content (which makes it more expensive to store/record).

My understanding is that DVI would work without it but that it will be mandated in 2005.

I think that fixed pixel display monitors benefit the most from a pure digital signal and thus you new Samsung would work well with the Bravo or Samsung DVD players. There may be others with DVI but I am not familiar with them.

Good luck and enjoy the new tv.
