Hi all,
I have a Samsung SIRT351 HD receiver. I've had it about 3 weeks, and last week one of my local channels dropped. Just got the "NO SIGNAL" message from out of the blue. Prior to this, it had a pretty good signal (higher then 60%). After trying to add it over the course of a couple days, I was able to finally add it after about 4 days. All other stations were great, and we had no severe weather. I called the station and asked if they had problems with the signal and they said no.

No big deal, but last night the same thing happened with my local FOX station (during the last 10 minutes of 24). After about 15 minutes, FOX was back.

I have not received an answer from my local FOX station, or Samsung, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this same problem with the Samsung receivers.

This is my second Samsung. I returned the first because of problems, and am ready to do the same with this one.

Anyone tried Motorola HD receivers?

thanks

Hi, just a quick update.

Turns out that I got some bad information about the local station that went out for a couple days and popped back on several days later. An engineer called me and explained that a piece of the datastream that tells the receiver where to find the station, wasn't being sent oftern enough, due to equipment malfunctions. Instead of being sent a couple times a second, it was sent maybe once every couple hours. They fixed it obviously, and are now considering purchasing backup equipment for this.

It was interesting to hear that quite a few people called them about this and that they took the time to call me back personally.

Anyway, if you want to know more about this, the term is PCIP. There are active and passive modes.

Still want peoples' opinions on the Samsung receiver. I have not heard anything from my local FOX station on what the problem I had last night was.

thanks.
