my dad still has the old big screen tv that has a mirror you have to open up and the 3 guns are on the outside.. its about 20 years old and still works good..

:eek: That is the first mental image I have of a projection tv from when I was a kid. My best friends dad had one. Thing took up an entire wall, up and across and you had to have room forward for it to open. Take a picture of it if you ever get a chance. It would take a long Google search to find one I think. ;)

Here's the RCA PFR100WR that I had up until 2 years ago. I paid C$2444 for it in 1982 on a clearout sale. All previous prices were almost C$5000. They were clearing because most newer units were going to Rear Projection instead of "front projection".
It would take a long Google search to find one I think Didn't take but one search if you know the model number....see photo below:

THAT rulzzzzzzzzzzzzzz awesome... i didnt even know they had front projections like that back in those days... but again i was only 2 years old so i wouldnt have remembered that anyway..... but again i wouldnt mind having that as a retro piece in a extra room....

Use to have one in a bar I worked at. It was left open all the time so it had a considerable build up of smoke scum on it. REALLY bad convergence also. Quite the rainbow effect.:eek:
