Does the GWIII up convert all input to 720P?
The GWIII is a fixed pixel display. I believe it's 788P. All incoming signals will be converted to the native resolution (788P). There is no choice.

I too have the 50we610. Well actually, it's on its way. If it displays at 788P, isn't it better than 720P since it has higher number? Or are they basically the same? What is the REAL difference if any?

Is that a reason to stay away from this or similar models? My daughter is considering the 60WE610 at Best Buy for around $3400. I know nothing about LCDs or Sony's. I recall folks saying to stay away from Sony RPTVs in the past, but I don't think that applied to this model.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

I'm a newbie to the Home Theater world. I looked at different RPTVs for some time, and decided on the sony. I own one so I can't answer as to reasons to stay away from this model. I think mine is great.
For all input modes, other than 720P, the 788P display should be "better" because more is better, provided that all else is equal (which it rarely is).
For a true 720P input, a 720P display would be the best since there would be no scaling.
