I just signed up for Dish Network;

3 Rooms (1 - 811 HD box, 2 - 301 boxes).

My 10 year old townhouse has rg59 throughout. Very neat and tidy distribution block outside with current comcast service feeding all the lines.

Now, I would say the rg59 runs throughout the house are less than 30', considering the house is only 20' wide with standard ceilings.

I don't want the guy running ugly rg6 runs throughout the place because I just installed beautiful maple floors throughout. It's not like he's going to be able to hide it under the carpet.

Can the rg59 runs be used from the distribution block? I just got a beautiful 50" Grand Wega and was hoping Dish Network could provide me with HDTV content since Comcast is 1 - year from delivering in my area.

Has anybody contracted out to get their rg59 runs in their house swapped out? What the heck does this cost?

RG59 has a larger signal loss, that's why RG6 is usually recommended. You can try the RG59 to see if it works. See the FAQ on Cables/splitters. The first link has a table on RG59/RG6 signal loss a few pages down in the article. The article itself is also good reading. Looks like there would be a few dB difference at 30'.
