Hi.
I'm new to HDTV and to this NG, having recently purchased the Zenith C34W37 TV.
Does anyone know if there is a service menu on that TV, and if so, how do I access it?
On several websites, I read that holding Menu for 5 seconds, until the menu pops up and then disappears, then pressing 9-8-7-6-Enter would bring up the service menu for other Zenith models.
But not this one. If I continue to hold the menu button, the menu does not disappear. I have tried pressing 9-8-7-6-Enter anyway, but no luck.
FYI, the reason I am trying to access the service menu is to see if there is a way to adjust the horizontal and vertical screen size.
When I am watching HD channels, it appears that the screen is not aligned properly. For example, when I watch HDNet, the HDNet logo in the bottom right corner of the screen is cut off. I only see "HDne".
It's the same on the left side. When watching a hockey game on HDNet, part of the small scoreboard is cut off at the upper left side of the screen.
If I change my ratio to 4.3, I can see the missing letters in the logo, and also some space between the logo and the edge of the video.
It's also the same on other HD channels using the Motorola HD cable box, and a couple OTA channels here, using the integrated HD tuner on the TV. (Another example: When Alias started on an OTA channel, the TV rating symbol in the upper left corner was cut off.
It may not seem like much, but I'm picky about my TV viewing... I want to be able to see everything I am supposed to see... :)
Thanks for any info/tips you can give.
