I purchased the Sony KF-42WE610 on Nov 26 and am pleased with it. I do have two questions for folks that have experience with this set.

First, Is it possible to "burn in" an image, or black bar on the screen on the Sony KF-42WE610? I watch standed TV in 4:3 mode, leaving black bars on the sides. I am concerned that this could damage the set.

Second, what experiences have people had in setting the controls. I am not much better off reading the manual as to what DRC "Digital Reality Creation" can do. What is the difference between Reality and Clarity, for example? Is there any advantage to "pro" or "standard" settings? I have used the Video Essentials disc, which I think helps somewhat, but this is the first LCD I have purchased, and settings of black level, white level were suprising.

Thanks, everyone!

Happy Holidays!

Although LCDs cannot "burn in", if you "abuse" the set - like leaving a 4:3 image on "full time", you can get what's called "greyscale degredation". It's not a major issue, but if you watch nothing but 4:3 it is a possibility. If you vary your viewing with DVDs and HD (16:9), then it's unlikely.
