Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the 'Z-View' option is? What is it set up to do? What are the pros and cons? I've searched high and low and can't find any definition.

Also, what are the pros and cons in using the Velocity Modulation option?? I can't notice any difference.

Finally, Does it damage the tube to use the Color Temperature and EZ picture settings? Is there an optimal setting to maintain tube quality?

Thanks

Velocity Modulation is an electronic attempt to "enhance the edges" of images on the screen. VM does nothing but harm to images. Turn it off.

The optimal setting for tube quality is with the TV off, but since most people would prefer to see the best possible picture, see the FAQ on "What you need to do to your new HDTV". These settings do not "harm" the TV and are typically easier on the tube than "EZ" or "Torch" settings found on new HDTVs.

As to Z-view - sorry, don't know that one - couldn't find a link on the web either. Someone else may know - or you may wish to read your operating manual - it may be in there.

Z-view is a feature that attempts to convert to the 480i image to 480p. Line doubler.

Z-view on my receiver is awful. It is like looking through a dirty window. I leave it off.
