Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm looking to purchase a new HDTV. Now I've done some reseach and came to the conclusion that the only advadtages Projection HDTV's and DLP's have over a direct view HDTV's are wieght and picture/screen size. Am I wrong?

In my opinion..you are correct. Others insist that a tube has the best picture but I personaly do not see it.
With minor tweaking, a large RPTV looks just as good if not better. SO if you want a large picture RPTV is the way..

Screen size it the key, to me it made my decision, direct views do not go as big as I wanted.
people will argue pq, really seems to depend on source.
want big have lots of money, I like DLP.
living in my home, I have crt,
any way you look at it, watching football in HD awsome!!!:smokin:

I agree with you.. those really are the only advantages.
The two don't really compete much since the largest 16:9 DV set is 34" and the smallest RPTV is 40".
See the FAQs "How large an HDTV to buy" and "Types of HDTV". Also "what you need to do to your new HDTV", etc.
