I've programmed my 501 remote's AUX button for my Onkyo receiver, just for the volume and mute functions. Same for the 811's remote. On the 501 I can leave the remote on SAT and still do the volume. On the 811 I have to press the AUX button to control the volume. ??
The code is the same for both. I've been all over the 811 manual and can't seem to find anything about locking the remote's volume control. One thing I didn't do is compare the setup with the 501 manual :(
Any thoughts? And its for the better half. I'm already getting 'why the new reciever when it doesn't work as well as the old one and it doesn't even record'. My reply, 'well this one does the SAT and OTA'. Reply 'you already had on that did OTA, what's wrong with it?' At this point I thought it was probably better to stop talking and not mention that for $1000 I can get one that does everything :)
What am I missing? (about the remote that is, although I'm open to suggestions as what to tell Mrs. LeeS)
