from what ive been reading this DVI thing might not be so bad after all they might have seperate setup boxes for us people who dont have it on the back of our HD's but if some could post and give me some more in thanx guys

I have the same TV as you and am very happy with it. Very good choice. As to your question about an internal or external upgrade box for DVI, the short answer is that right now no one knows. That said, I think that IF (and it's a BIG IF) DVI/HDCP encoding catches on several years from now, you will be able to purchase a DVI upgrade. Toshiba recently picked up on people like yourself who were concerned about DVI. So Toshiba updated the descriptions of their old, pre-DVI sets to say that "yes, we will provide you with a DVI upgrade if the time ever comes when you need one." Mitsubishi has a similar promise, although they do not specifically mention DVI. The Sony KP series is at least one of the most (if not the most) popular lines of HDTVs. Based on the number of KP owners out there, there's definitely a market to make it profitable for Sony to design and sell you an upgrade. Nearly a year ago when we first started hearing about DVI/HDCP, a bunch of people spread a lot of false information about such upgrades being illegal. Well now that people have had time to read the HDCP licensing agreement, it is pretty clear that upgrades are entirely possible, as the Toshiba promise indicates. Worst case scenario, however, you may need a trained technician to perform the upgrade. It'll cost you something, but probably less than you saved today by buying a non-DVI set as opposed to paying full price for the new DVI sets.

thanx for the info that makes me have a little better piece of mind cause i was totally worried about my purchase which isnt cheap at all... but yeah i love the tv i got need to get the avia cd and set the convergence on it
