View Full Version : True 1080I?
Someone please set me straight here. I have read, researched and heard there are no devices out there that truly capture 1080I? 720 is the best you get.. For example my Sharp10k projector is 720p. Although All the HD t.vs/projectors claim to do 1080I, they really cant.
The fixed pixel displays ( DLP/ LCD) are 720p, if they accept 1080i (and 1080p is some cases) they deinterlace or scale it to 720p.
CRT based systems are native 1080i and some accept 720p and convert to 1080i.
How well either converts depends on the unit.
Much discussion of which is better, having had both I can't say I can find much difference that I can see. Both look great to me.
But yes they do 1080i (540 horizontal lines every other time or 1080 lines interlaced).
Our projectors do 720 horizontal lines every time (720p)
LCOS technology is a horse of another color, but that technology has been put on hold I think. (1080p)
IMHO, (certainly not an expert)
