Ok! For al those D** viewers that think they might be able to pickup the CBS-HD feed. The program guide is currently showing a CBS feed on channel 81. I believe this will be one of the HD feeds depending on your location (zipcode). There is currently no video or sound but it does show the programming layout for the rest of the evening. It s probably now just a matter of days until it’s up and broadcasting HD. No sign of FOX widescreen yet.:)

For those of you out there with the distant networks here it is in black and white that you will also get the CBS-HD channel with your distant locals.

While going out the door to work this morning I noticed that the D** CBS-HD feeds are up and running. Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought if you lived in an O&O market you would be able to pick up both the east and west feeds. I’m only picking up the west feed. Also saw that the programming guide for Fox widescreen is up but no video yet.
It will be interesting to see if there will be any difference in the PQ between OTA and D** CBS-HD feeds. Also for those of you that are expecting better quality movies on the HD PPV channel. They have Seabiscuit scheduled for Friday in HD.

Read the above information from the link that I provided and it tells you which CBS-HD you get.

Those people in the Central Standard time zones all the way over to the Pacific Time zones will get the CBS West Feed on channel 80.
Eastern time zone customers will get the CBS East Feed on channel 81.
Again, you will only get this is you meet the following criteria:
1) You currently purchase your locals through DirecTv.
2) You currently have the HD package.
3) Your local CBS affiliate is owned and operated by CBS corp.
If you fail to meet any of the three criteria, you will not have a CBS feed through DirecTV.
Hope this cleares everything up.

You all are not reading it from Directv. Here is the link that tells you everything you need to know. http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/aboutus/headline.dsp?id=01_26_2004A

In reading ALL of the D*TV release...its important to note the "OR" separations for qualifying criteria, NOT "And", as stated in the earlier post here.
The way this thing is written, it would appear that they may expand it outside the O&O markets (although I don't believe that's the case, but the way it reads, it could be misinterpreted).
The D*TV release was poorly written. The fact that they already announced this 3 weeks ago in a press release, and not release this later "announcement" adds to the confusion.
Worse yet, in 2 calls to D*TV today, not even a supervisor could tell me if this new "announcement" meant anyhting new or not - they would have to "research it further".
I suggested that clarifying things might save them a few thousand phone calls with the SuperBowl coming up....

As of this morning I am getting both feeds of CBS-HD. Don't see the Fox channels at all in the guide.

Sorry for the mistake. I was in a rush out the door but it was in the high 80’s range both the E&W Fox programming guide was up, but no video. It’s no longer up. They did the same thing regarding the CBS programming guide feeds a week ago. So it appears they are getting ready to start the Fox video feed within the next couple of weeks based on past experience.

That will be nice as FOX has no affiliate near me with a digital signal yet and I do get the E/W feeds via SAT.
Thanks for the heads up.
