HI GUYS ? Concerning D* reciever - need help.

I call the D* people about the special and was ready to buy so I asked a couple of ?'s. what made me not buy was she told me since I'm in the Miami area and no local channels are HD for me through D*, that she didn't know what I could do to get them.

Now, I have been getting my Locals HD's free through a Zenith HDV420, but I would like to just have one unit for all channels.

My question is would I have to keep both receivers in order to get local HD and keep switching components in the back every time or is there a better way?

Did she explain something wrong?

Not sure what special you are talking about, but all current HDTV D** receivers have a built in OTA tuner. The HDTV D** receiver is all you need for satellite and OTA (OTA IS FREE).

Are you not getting Direct programming now? Are you getting your locals OTA? You will still get your locals OTA with a new DirectHD receiver.
Direct just does not have HD Locals via satelite.
This should be a 1 box solution.

Sounds like a communication issue;)
You mean OTA locals in HD and She means LIL(locals in locals) in HD and they do not carry LIL in HD just standard vision.
