Just got HD cable for my 32hs500, so I've been watching lots of un-zoomed upconverted 4:3 and lots of TiVo'd WS. I know burn-in can be an issue for tubes, but I've never seen any real numbers. Anybody now the story? Thanks in advance.

It can certainly happen on direct view TVs, although they are probably less susceptible than RPTVs. Still a proper setup of the TV will help minimize it - see the FAQ "What you need to do to your new HDTV".

Also, you should really keep any static images to less than 15-20% of your viewing. If not, you'll eventually get burn in. If your supermarket has checkouts with Tubes, you can see the burn in on them.

See the FAQ on Burn in.
