I can't get the Super in HD OTA, or via Directv CBS feed.
Do the NFL Sunday Ticker subscribers get a HD feed of the game?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the only way is via OTA or the satellite CBS-HD feeds. Do you know for certain you wont be eligible for D** CBS-HD feed.
Some US Cable companies have CBS-HD, or the Superbowl on a temporary HD channel...

I've got two "local" CBS affiliates. (Springfield & Pittsburgh/Joplin)
I've contacted both, and both are not broadcasting the game in HD this year.
Directv gives me FOX & NBC East/West feeds, but I can't get waivers for the other two networks.
Ironically, I can get FOX & NBC just fine OTA via analog with an indoor antenna. I told Directv that I can't get CBS at all. They can only pass the information along to the network.
When my outdoor antennae goes up, Directv will lose my 4 bucks a month for those networks. I'll probably get ABC OTA also, but it's looking like CBS is putting out such a weak DTV signal that I might not be able to receive it. Not to mention it's VHF-13 if that matters.

Who did you contact for waivers? Was it D** or the CBS affiliates. You should make your case with the CBS affiliate since they would know a bit more about their power output, tower location and line of sight issues. I know were your coming from you just want to see the SB regardless of weather it’s in HD or not.

I contacted Directv.
I wasn't aware you could plead your case to the local affiliate?
I'll try today.

you can, that is, if you can actually get a hold of someone. (besides the receptionist)

I suspect that if all you have tried is an indoor antenna and have not tried anything larger or outdoors, your pleas will fall on deaf ears. But, what the heck, it doesn't cost anything to plead your case. :)

Mike, I won't agree with that statement until Cox-Phoenix adds NBC, WB, UPN, FOX, HDNet, HDNet Movies, INHD, INHD2, Bravo+HD, and any other HD channels that come up, to our HD lineup. Even though I enjoy what we have, there is no good reason why they don't offer more of what is available out there. :(

DoubleDAZ i can already tell you they will be adding some of those channels very soon... NBC, INHD 1 & 2... there is no reason to have HDnet and HDnet 2 as they are almost exactly like INhd 1 & 2.... as for FOX, Fox isnt in HD yet so there is no need.. also WB there isnt enough programming on this channel in HD to justify doing this...... please be patience and trust me more content will be available soon.. dont forget cable has soooo much more bandwidth to play with then small dish... i am now in the Field as a technician with Cox now and have learned so much information that is really interesting about our industry and again i am DAMN proud to work for the Co. i do...

Mike, I'll agree with the comment about HDNet, HDNet Movies, and FOX, but when it comes to NBC and INHD/INHD2, are you talking Cox here or Cox in general? I've been trying for several months now to find out what is going on with NBC-12 here and why no new channels have been added since StarZ-HD back in early December. There is no standardization from one Cox market to the next as to what HD channels are offered and there is absolutely no information forthcoming. Heck, their website still shows HBOE-HD instead of StarZ-HD and I've told them about it at least 3 times now over the past month or so. So, if you are talking specifically about Cox-Phoenix, thanks for the heads-up. If not, :( . :)
I should add that I have heard the rumor about NBC and INHD/INHD2 here for going on 6 months now.

i was speaking about your market and all Cox markets... you gotta keep in mind not all markets were Cox markets when we started to buy smaller cable co.s back in 2000 and since then Cox is trying to standardize mostly all our markets but it takes some time we cant just all push the button and it all be the same... but i do hear what your saying and i definitely see it from your perspective.... and to wifeB8 no we are not dropping ESPN because we got them to bring their price down to a reasonable amount which is what they should have done in the first place.....

Thanks Mike, I'll be checking the lineup. Hopefully, they'll also upgrade the SA3250HD software soon.
As for ESPN, I wonder who blinked. It's hard to know whether or not ESPN was simply trying to get as much as they could or if Cox was really standing up to them. I suppose, in the end, it was a little of both. I have to wonder why there hasn't been any announcement yet.

Cox is the cable provider in my area. (They did purchase the local cable company about 5 years ago)
They have only two stations that broadcast in stereo let alone HD.
It is fun pointing that out to a subscriber that his MTV is coming through as a mono signal.
Of course you could upgrade to their "Digital" service. My father did that and dropped it because he couldn't handle all of the freeze ups and digital artifacts.
I don't blame them though, we are out in the sticks and are probably last on the upgrade list.

Comcast in Philly just got CBS-HD the beginning of this month. It's by far the best HD channel.

Mike, another Cox employee here in Phoenix has kind of confirmed that INHD will be coming Feb 13. Unfortunately, he has no info on NBC or INHD2. I don't know the poster and he's only posted a couple of times (that's why I said "kind of"), but hopefully the info is correct and more info will be posted as soon as he can get it.

I turned to channel 80 hoping to see CBS-HD feed but instead have a the message "call ext. 721", Called Dave and they said we are not eligiable because CBS dosen't own WGCL-CBS 46 in Atlanta. 2 weeks ago I called the about 5x and they said we would have it. Talked to the manager on hand and they tried to apologize because they said originally we were eligiable but on Jan 29th CBS called and said they had to get permission from affiliate stations who have broadcast rights of their signal. What a waste! I pay the same amount as everyone else and this is all I get, AN APOLOGY! Screw this, Im switching to Comcast!!!!
