MPEG play on dvd players

I just wanted to know whether or not there are any dvd players that will play mpeg videos recorded on to cdr. If anyone can be specific with certain models please say. Thanks in advance. The one im particulary interested in is the pioneer dv-563a. Also if anyone owns this player have they tried to test it playing wma files...according to sound and vision ..they say no. Just want to know if anyone with this unit has tried.
