I use a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3100HD Setop box from Comcast. Will the use of a HD Box with Firewire output to my set enhance my HDTV better than the component inputs?

not in my opinion.. since the final display is analog i dont think youll see my of a difference.. are you sure the firewire output on the box is even active...

The firewire input is on my Mits 55711 not the HD Setop Box

so how would you go from the stb to the firewire?
not many STB 's that I know of have firewire out let alone have it enabled,
my answer is give it a try, but I agree, with mikehbkwm, probably not,
what are your issues?
