I got in on the $99 Directv HD offer this week . I was all ready for HD programming on my new Hitachi TV . The dish and Sammy receiver were delivered during the week and the installer set for today. I live in the woods and have the old dish now for several years, great reception , all the the time {95 and up}!!Directv has been great to me and I love it!!

When the installer showed up today ready to complete the deal he informed me that it can't be done because of the location of the location of the HD satellite is blocked by a hugh oak tree . He checked several locations but none would work. I was pissed . The only other possible location may be 40 ft from my house with a pole hookup. The ground is frozen solid now and the location is right in the middle of my yard and it won't work.

Can anyone offer any suggestions ?? I have comcast local basic now but they don't have Hd . I would llike to stay with Directv since I love the Sunday ticket
I am too far to get any decent OTA using an antenna !!

Excactly!. Took me several trees to come down but thats usually the only true option. Plant a few small ones in its place and enjoy the HD. I find the smaller ones provide better ground privacy than my skinny 60 foot oak trees.

I can hear the chain saw buzzing...........
