I've recently been experiencing some 'ghosting' on my Sony KF50XBR800.
I would describe it as a yellowish-brown tinted shadow that was most noticeable in the 4:3 mode. It would show as a shadow to the left of the right vertical edge and also be quite visible on all lettering and on-screen menus (such as Direct TV's 9 Favorite Channels).
Thanks to my local family-owned Sony dealer, the tech suggested this simple cure:
1. Go to the MENU on the Sony
2. Select SETUP
3. Select IMAGE REVISION
4. You choose from Auto, 1, 2, or 3 - to eliminate ghosting - whichever appears best to you.
According to the tech, after the LCD's have had time to age a bit, they need minor adjustment to eliminate ghosting.
It was a relief to me it was this simple, particularly after what I went through with service on my former Hitachi Widescreen.
The Sony XBR looks incredible now!!
Hope this helps anyone else who's experienced this rather annoying and stressful problem with their set.
